Missing BTS Hours is a show where we miss BTS way too much and talk about them during their enlistment hiatus era. We will look at BTS’s current news despite the lack of new content and learn about a few ARMY’s connections to the group. It’s a show that really explains why their absence affects current K-pop/western music media and ARMY, including how their rise to fame came about! Does teamwork make the dream work? Let’s chat about BTS’s awards and recognitions from 2017 onwards. I’ll recap some of their big moments and share my thoughts on how the fandom reacted during the height of pre-pandemic ARMY discourse. We’ll also talk about what I believe to be the biggest trophy they (never) received. Success comes with flaws so we will discuss some of the critiques they’ve faced surrounding their mainstream position in and out of K-pop.

I’m Cindy and I love to yap about BTS with anyone willing to lend their ears and hearts. <3
The picture to the right is me outside of the Forum waiting for Hozier last month!
As ARMY continues to endure BTS’ military enlistment period, their absence has made me realize how important their music and personas are to my creative life! I often feel inspired to write (my favorite way to express myself) and be a better person when I hear their music, or even the silly things like watching their music videos or the content they shoot for Run BTS episodes. Or the simple check-in lives that Jungkook would often do in his home before he had to enlist.
But, also – their past music videos and content are nostalgic to me these days because of this enlistment era. The comebacks I remember waiting for back in the day like Love Yourself remain with me as happy fangirling memories and add to my nostalgia. The past comebacks like Wings and The Most Beautiful Moment in Life (parts 1 and 2) are pieces of art that made me pay attention to their music's themes of self-love, success despite adversities, the importance of community and fearlessly living the lives we want.
And another important detail – Yoongi is my bias! Since day 1 :) He has been willing to tell very personal stories like his previous mental health struggles and diagnoses. This isn’t easy to share and I relate to his story.
Reeling it back to 2024, it’s only a few more months until we get them all back together again as a unit. I am excited to share with you the takes from other ARMY that I will gather soon.
